Secret Clubhouse

Colby insisted that Dad climb into the (cramped) tent with him and his secret club. And since Dad was holding Baby Parker, he got to join too... until Parker made a stink and got kicked out of the club. Apparently thats not allowed. :)

Big Day for a Big Brother

This week/month has been so hectic. On Dec 8th Colby became a big brother! And this past thursday, we finally got to bring "Baby Parker" home. Colby has done really well with the change, I think. He's very helpful when we ask him, but not so helpful that he's trying to grab the baby from us. So really, just the perfect amount. He is getting a bit jealous of all the attention Parker's getting though. But I think he's really loving his little brother.

Smart little guy

Colby loves to draw on his whiteboard. So I pulled it out and asked him to draw Colby. I meant a little stick figure of himself, but apparently he didn't catch that. Needless to say I was pretty shocked! And apparently we need to work on Y's (and B's) a little bit. LOL

Snow!

Mommy hates the snow, but Colby might actually like it! He loved building snowmen, and mom got pelted a LOT while trying to take pictures. Now lets just hope it melts quickly!

Getting Ready for Parker

Colby's about to be a big brother soon! Parker should be arriving sometime in the next four weeks. We spent the past weekend getting Parker's nursery set up. Colby was... helpful. You can guess how much Dad appreciated his 'help'. However, we can't help but love how excited Colby is for "Baby Parker"! He knows that Baby Parker is in Mommy's belly right now, and that we get to see him a lot on "Baby Parker TV" (ultrasounds). His enthusiasm is so cute, I can't wait until he gets to hold his brother for the first time!

Trick or treat!

Colby wanted to go dressed as his favorite person this year, so here is our little Buzz Lightyear. He was grumpy at first, but then really got into it and scored a lot of loot! We love Halloween at our house!

Getting Ready for Halloween!

We've only done a little bit to get ready for Halloween, but its been fun.

Colby was so super proud of his pumpkin he made at pre-school. We had to hang it on our wall!

And he loved his new pumpkin trick-or-treat basket. Simple joys, but I loved his happy smile. :)

We got these funky looking pumpkins from Uncle Chicken-Butt, and spent the morning carving them. They were grotesque looking! This was Colby's first attempt at actual carving, last year we cheated with push-in Mr Potato Head pieces.

And due to Colby disliking the feeling of anything yucky, he washed his hands approximately 20 times during this process!

Our very basic pumpkin. Daddy came home and carved a better one, but oh well. We like ours!

Three years old!

Today is Colby's 3rd Birthday! We are so lucky to have him in our lives we love and adore him so much! He's (relatively) well-behaved and such a smart little guy. Here's a "3" update on him!
3 favorite foods- lucky charms, Macaroni & Cheese, and hot dogs
3 favorite shows- Super Why, Blue's Clues, Barney
3 biggest accomplishments- knows entire alphabet including sounds, almost potty trained, started pre-school!
3 things to accomplish in the next year- finish potty training, become a big brother, have more fun!
3 favorite ways to be naughty- hitting (ugh), irritating the cats, making messes
3 favorite past times- watching TV, wrestling with dad/uncles/papas, reading books
3 favorite colors- green, red, yellow ( I just asked. lol)
Happy Birthday Colby!

Swimming

This time of year I always get super nostalgic about all the fun summer activities we did! Colby has loved swimming, even getting brave and just using a noodle or floatie ring to stay above the water.

Swinging

We had a yard sale at the beginning of the summer, and used the proceeds to buy Colby a swingset. He loves to swing so much!

Its a Blue Day

Its so hard to find Blue's Clues gear, so I had to improvise! I found a plain notebook at the Salvation Army for a quarter, and I grabbed some spare red and green cardstock, and fashioned Colbs a Handy Dandy Notebook. He was so super excited, I had to bribe him to hold still for one picture. He loves it and can't put it down!

Water time!

Colby absolutely loves running through the sprinklers. This was not supposed to happen, but apparently the intrigue of spraying water was just too much for his will-power (and dry clothes!) to handle.

Our favorite torture...

Our favorite form of torture is cruelly holding our son down and having a complete stranger paint random objects on his skin! I recommend it to all you parents out there!
Although, it really is incredible how much a 2 yr old will perk up if you give him a sno-cone afterwards.

4th of August!... I mean, July. Wow these are old! The parade!

Just like daddy!

I love how grown-up Colby looks in Church clothes, and he loves that he looks just like daddy. He adores wearing a tie, even though by the end of the three hours it is completely unzipped and hanging down by his feet.

I am going to be updating this blog a lot this week, now that I've found the time to take a breather from all the other life happenings! So check back often. :)

At the zoo

Colby was navigator at the zoo for about three seconds, which he loved! I thought these were so cute, he kept pulling it closer and further away, trying to 'read' it even better. I got a good laugh out of my quirky son.

Slippers

Colby was pretty upset this morning. After I got him dressed and put his shoes on to go to grandma's, he happened to notice his slippers.

Colby: "I want my slippers!"
Mom: "Sorry honey, you're already wearing your shoes. Lets go to Grandma's now, ok?"
Colby sat and thought for a minute, then pulled the slippers over his hands.
Colby: "Ok, I'm ready!"

Unfortunately, its hard to drink out of a cup with slippers on your hand, so they didn't last long.

Bubble Boy

The little dude found a bubble machine, and much joy and happiness ensued. What a fun time!

Today's pics

These pics are right before my show last night. The kids were totally excited... for about three minutes. By the end of it, Grant had fire coming out of his ears from trying to keep the Colbs quiet.

This Morning...

Colbs: "Hey mom!"
Me: "What bud?"
Colbs: "Its circle!"

So it is, so it is. He's so proud of himself.
